Review: The Great Escape by Charlotte Fallowfield

The Great Escape.

A laugh-out-loud novel from Charlotte Fallowfield, Amazon UK #1 bestselling contemporary romance author of Until We Collide.

Release date 31st August 2017.

A tropical beach paradise in Mexico was the last place Georgie Basset expected her decimated heart to be jump-started again, not after she’d been jilted the year before by her fiancĂ©, leading to said breakage. But when she spotted Weston Argent jogging along the beach, all bronzed with ripped muscles like some Greek God out of a modern day Baywatch scene, she nearly choked on her cocktail. She knew immediately she was in trouble, she’d never reacted so strongly to a man on first glance.

However, after a disastrous first date with him, she headed back home to Dilbury, resigned to never seeing him again. That is, until Weston turned up unexpectedly at her dog grooming parlour with Bertie the French bulldog, a species she had a real weakness for. She couldn’t help but wonder if fate was playing a helping hand. But each time she saw him, their encounters never went smoothly, resulting in some mortifying and hilarious escapades. Despite their undeniable attraction, there was something about Weston that she couldn’t quite put her finger on, something that concerned her.

When the truth finally came to light, Georgie was convinced that all men were dogs, except she knew that was an insult to dogkind. Ever the meddler, her best friend, Abbie, intervened, knowing in her heart that despite what had happened, Weston was full of good intentions, and was undoubtedly Georgie’s Prince Charming.

The question remained, could he convince Georgie of that, or would he forever remain in the dog house?

While The Great Escape is a standalone story, it's the second in the Dilbury Village series of romantic comedy novels. All of them will be set in the quaint fictitious English hamlet in the Shropshire countryside, but feature a different village couples' story.

Warning, if you are of a sensitive disposition when it comes to toilet humour, then the Dilbury Village series may not be for you!

Prepare to laugh your way through this heartwarming and ever so charming second installment of the Dilbury Village Series. Charlotte Fallowfield returns with guns blazing with her no holds bar humour and wit bursting off the pages of The Great Escape as Georgie Basset takes her turn on the great quest for love with her best friends at her side.

Georgie hasn't had the best luck when it comes to love, it's a fickle bitch at the best of times and she's been burnt- to a black bloody crisp. Needless to say she's reluctant to open her heart but, once she sees the handsome Weston running on the Mexican shore... well, I can't blame her *wink* I mean what else is a single girl to do while on vacation, oogle the sand?! Pfffft!!

'Georgeous,' I replied, putting my hand in his. I felt faint as he wrapped his fingers tightly around my hand, which quivered from the sensation that sparked all of my nerve endings. Oh shit. Had I just said gorgeous out loud? 'Georgie, I mean my name is Georgie, not gorgeous. It's a bit presumptuous of me to call myself gorgeous, isn't it? And I wasn't saying it about you, no. NO, no, no. Not that you're not gorgeous. I mean you are, obviously, but ... oh God, I'm rambling, aren't I?' I uttered, my cheeks flaming.

From nervous ramblings, to turdgate 2.0, the joys of a blooming relationship; it's ups & downs and all around joys, let downs and happily ever afters. Everything and anything is possible and survivable with the love and support of your besties by your side! This is a book that you must read and experience first hand! It's British Rom-Com at it's best!

'Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to decide what path you really want to take to climb back out of the hole you've found yourself in.'

Are you ready to lose your ever loving mind?! OH YEAH, you know you are!!!  Erin Watt return with one of the most anticipated books -ever- in 'The Royals' series!! Ok, every book is anticipated! This series is beyond addictive and off the charts angst-mazing! Fallen Heir is all EASTON ROYAL, baby! That's right, this book belongs to the wild Royal child, the golden bad boy of the family, the one with horns and a tail, the elusive middle child who's crown has a crack or two... or ten in it, its debatable. When it reigns, it pours with this one! *wink* Sit down, strap in, and get ready for one wild ride cause These Royals WILL Ruin by one! But Easton might do us all in, once and for all!

Heavy is the head the wears the crown, it's not easy being a Royal and living in Bayview. With past scandals, dramas, and deaths under belt in the last three installments I went into Fallen Heir wondering what Erin Watt could possibly dish up next for us to freak out and squee over. Well. I'll just say I was not expecting any of what I read. Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada. But Holy crap. WTF?! OMG! Oh. Shiiiiiiiit. They dished it up real good.

'I'm the design flaw in the Royal family, the one who isn't quite like the others, the one who crashes and burns more often that not.'

There's an evilness buzzing around the halls at Astor Park Prep.
Eyes are always on the prey, the prize.
Unsuspected and always watching.
Lies. Deceit. Scandal.
Someone always wants the top spot.
Monarchy rules but the war has just begun.

Fallen Heir had me twisted in knots with the many layers of Easton exposed wide open. Angst, turmoil, anguish. So many emotions and feelings unraveled and unfurled. This installment in The Royals saga chewed me up and spit me out in pieces, gasping for air, begging for mercy... because NO!!!! NO, no, noooooooooo. I need the next book more than my next breath or pay cheque!!! Dear god, is it January yet?!?!?!

"I told you, trouble follows you wherever you go, Easton."
"You're not capable of fixing things."Sadly, she shakes her head. "All you do is break them."

Because... When it reigns, it pours... and you definitely need to read this book!!!

Review: Ghosted by J.M. Darhower

He's a troubled young actor, Hollywood's newest heartthrob, struggling with fame as the star of the latest superhero franchise. Through scandal after scandal, addiction on top of addiction, a flurry of paparazzi hunt him as he fights to conquer his demons.

She's a single mother, assistant manager at a grocery store, existing in monotony with her five-year-old daughter. Every day when she goes to work, lurid tabloids surround her, the face of a notorious bad boy haunting her from their covers.

A man and a woman, living vastly different lives, but that wasn't always the case. Once, they were just a boy and a girl who bonded over comic books and fell in love unexpectedly.

When Kennedy Garfield met Jonathan Cunningham back in high school, she knew he had all the makings of a tragic hero. With stars in his eyes, and her heart on her sleeve, the pair ran away together to follow their dreams.

But dreams, sometimes, turn into nightmares.

Now, years later, the only thing they share is a daughter—one who has no idea her father plays her favorite superhero. But Jonathan is desperate to make amends, and at the top of his list is the woman who gave up everything for him and the little girl he hasn't yet met.

'You know he's around, you can feel him ghosting across your skin, but unless he shows himself to you, you can't see him, looking right through him like he's not even there.'

I think this might be my new all-time favourite book ever. Holyfreakingsh*t! I fell so truly, madly, and deeply in love with this book! Just like the Savage Garden song lol. So fierce! So much LOVE! GAH!!!! If I had known losing my J.M. Darhower cherry would be this EPIC I would have done it a long, long time ago.

'The fire? It still burns.'
''Something tells me it always will, no matter who tries to put it out.'

I tend to love a lot of books, but Ghosted is on a completely whole other level here, I'm talking the holy grail level of book love! THIS BOOK! I just can't even! I'm still floating high right now with all the feels and emotions, and FML, what I'd give or do just to be able to read this book all over again for the first time. I. Did. Not. Want. It. To. End! This is one of those books I could read forever and it still wouldn't be long enough. This hangover is going to be brutal, but so very worth it!

With a unique, intense and thoroughly addictive story line, J.M Darhower had me hooked and engrossed from the first chapter. This story grabbed hold of me and didn't let go but that's ok, because I couldn't put the book down even if I had wanted to. This second chance romance owned me from start to finish and gd what an amazing ride it was!

"There's no way to sugar coat it, no pretty words I can conjure up to turn it into something sweet, not when I'm so bitter. You're the caterpillar that went into the cocoon and emerged a glorious butterfly, but I'm the reminder that butterflies don't stick around long, a few weeks at most before they're gone."

The complexities of the story line and how intricately woven Ghosted is completely blew me away, just how everything came full circle had me like whoa... dude!! It was insane! I loved everything about this book, never a dull moment or lull. The pace and transition from past to present and the twist of how the past was executed was brilliant! How the book as a whole was executed was brilliant. J.M. Darhower is brilliant! Brilliant!!!! I swear this is the most ultimate and epic second chance romance book to ever exist. GAH! Sit down, strap in and enjoy the ride! Its a bumpy one! Angst for miles, inner turmoil & regret dripping off the pages, balanced beautifully with the wit and charm of the most adorable five year old to ever fictionally exist!

Young love and a rising star in Hollywood spelled disaster for Kennedy Garfield and Jonathan Cunningham. The demons of drugs and alcohol ripping and shredding apart the dreams of young love... welcome to Ghosted this is their story!

"He's just an addict, and your daughter was his first high."

You know when you sit there hugging your e-reader time and time again with a goofy grin plastered on your face, or with tears of happiness streaming down your face, or just because the mood strikes; it was a really stinkin' great read! If you only read one book this year... *hint hint hint*  *wink* #breezeo #snowflake #TopRead
