Review: Lucky Charmed by Sharla Lovelace

Carmen Frost hates honey. And bees. And in her hometown of Charmed, Texas, which practically invented the stuff, that’s a problem. The good news is that the summer Honey Festival is finally over. Even better, so is the annual Lucky Hart carnival, a road show that made off with her dreams years ago—including the boy she loved. Now she’s got a divorce behind her, and a successful law career in front of her, but in a tiny town, big memories die hard. Or they don’t die at all—as Carmen discovers when she runs into an all too familiar pair of eyes—older, wiser, and just as heart-melting as ever . . .

Sully Hart has had enough of the nomad lifestyle. Travelling with his father’s carnival gave him adventures, but it cost him much more. Now he’s home to stay, contracted to create an entertainment complex in Charmed. He wants roots, a house with a yard and all the mundane pleasures that go with it. But the girl he loved has become a woman who still wants freedom. Can she still want him? It seems he and Carmen are at each other’s throats one minute—and on each other’s lips the next. Someone’s gotta give . . .

4 'Forever is what we make it.' Stars

Young love leaves a lasting impression and wanderlust for the great beyond in this emotional, soul searching, and self seeking second chance romance takes us back to the small town of Charmed, Texas for the second installment in the Charmed in Texas series.

Oh, Carmen. I simply adore her character, she hasn't had the best or easiest luck in love, or luck in general, especially when it comes to escaping the small town that seems to keep her in it's clutches. Now in her thirty's with a divorce in the past and a good career under her belt as a lawyer, it's time to leave this Charmed little town for bigger and better things. The plan's been made and set into motion, that is, until the one who left without a trace all those fifteen years ago comes back into town. Torn and even more confused, Carmen is set into a self induced tale-spin of hysteria. To stay or leave... a temporary vacation or permanently?

Emotions are pulled from every direction. The magnetic pull between them remains, it will forever exist. Sully will always have a place in her heart. Heck, who are we kidding here? Sullivan Hart OWNS her; heart and soul. Sully the carnie and Carmen the girl from the trailer park. A love that found each other too young as some would say. A love that would forever stay with them both, that would ruin them, shape them and twist their hopes and dreams for REAL love once again.

Small town love meets big city dreams. Sometimes you have to leave to find your way back home to each other.

Sharla Lovelace once again Charms readers with her emotional, romantic reads that are full of sizzle, swoon, and so much heart! I can't wait to see what's in store for next for Charmed, Texas.

Review: A Charmed Litte Lie by Sharla Lovelace

Charmed, Texas... quaint, quirky, and when it comes to romance, there's no place quite as enchanting.

Lanie Barrett didn't mean to lie. Spinning a story of a joyous marriage to make a dying woman happy is forgivable, isn't it? Lanie thinks so, especially since her beloved Aunt Ruby would have been heartbroken to know the truth of her niece's sadly loveless, short-of-sparkling existence. Trouble is, according to the will, Ruby didn't quite buy Lanie's tale. And to inherit the only house Lanie ever really considered a home, she'll have to bring her "husband" back to Charmed for three whole months--or watch Aunt Ruby's cozy nest go to her weasel cousin, who will sell it to a condo developer.

Nick McKane is out of work, out of luck, and the spitting image of the man Lanie described. He needs money for his daughter's art school tuition, and Lanie needs a convenient spouse. It's a match made... well, not quite in heaven, but for a temporary arrangement, it couldn't be better. Except the longer Lanie and Nick spend as husband and wife, the more the connection between them begins to seem real. Maybe this modern fairy tale really could come true...

5 'Life is messy. Love is messier.' Stars

I'm truly, madly, deeply in love with Sharla Lovelace's latest masterpiece, A Charmed Little Lie. When I get that feeling of butterflies swarming my belly, zings and zaps coursing through my veins, goosebumps from head to toe early in, I know I'm in for a stellar reading adventure.  My booknerd spidey senses haven't led me astray yet!

Lovelace is the Queen-Bee of small-town USA romance, buzzing with emotions, overflowing with swoon, bursting with all the feels, needs, and wants that her readers crave. Story-lines that thrive with uniqueness and never been read before ideas. Beautifully written with such class that make even the sexiest and naughtiest of scenes tasteful and decadent. Her books are the full package.

A Charmed Little Lie is based on a silly little frivolous lie, where baggage meets baggage, and the love of a lifetime blossoms in this first installment of the Charmed in Texas series. Lanie should have known that you can't fool the Barrett intuition. Aunt Ruby was no imbecile, and the reading of her will and months to come prove such.

I had so much fun devouring this book, tapping my way through spectacle after spectacle. I couldn't read fast enough!! Lanie and Nick we're an unstoppable duo, each for their own reasons, ultimately coming together to out-do the villains of the story for the ultimate happily ever after! Lovelace does romance like no other, her works teaching life lessons and self worth throughout. Without losing focus on this story and it's principle characters, Lovelace seamlessly weaved in buildup for the next installment in the series that I can't wait to get my hands on!!

So she’s marrying the man who should be her perfect match—and that’s that.

Or is it? When a Chase family wedding sets the stage for body temperatures to rise and the pressure of Quinn’s impending wedding to build, a new reality breaks.  Ahhh! *sigh* Another fabulous read from the amazingly talented Sharla Lovelace. I've been hooked on her writing ever since reading Don't Let Go, that book will forever have my heart. Ok, back to the story at hand, The Sweetest Chase.

I LOVED this book! Completely absorbed in the story line from page 1, this book was like walking into a dramatic nightmare of sexual tension that I just couldn't walk or turn away from. I couldn't put it down, get it out of my mind.. I just couldn't! The push and pull between Simon and Quinn, just OMG! Oh.My.Gaaaawd! Yes, lots and lots aaaaaaaaaaand lots of sexual tension. A perfect storm was brewing between these two storm chasing junkies.

The Sweetest Chase is a story that will test boundaries, family ties, self worth and the readers emotional well being. The ups and downs, rights and wrongs, whispered sweet nothings that weren't meant to be heard but were..GAH! Everything about this story line worked for me!

The characters as well as secondary characters were well developed and definitely had their own personalities blazing full tilt in this installment of the series. This book has a lot of heart and as a reader you can tell that Sharla put her heart and soul into this beautiful story. I can't wait to read the next chapter in this series!

Review: Loving the Chase by Sharla Lovelace

Charming, adventurous Zach Chase has always craved the spotlight, and now he’s on the hunt for publicity for his family’s storm-chasing business. So when a reality TV network approaches him with the idea for a show profiling their work, he can’t resist. But the last person he expects to walk into the meeting is the former love of his life.

Production assistant Maddi Hayes was once engaged to Zach—until she was almost killed by a tornado he was out chasing. She walked away from her fiancĂ© and their future together, convinced she’d always come second to his dangerous career.

Dreading the show and anxious over working so closely with Zach, Maddi also knows this project could mean big things for her career. If only Zach weren’t still so infuriating…and so infuriatingly sexy. Can they finally let go of their stormy past? Or will the passion still raging between them win in the end?

3.75 E4 love Tornadoes

ARC provided in exchange for a honest review.

I'm a sucker for a second chance romance and was beyond thrilled when I won a paperback ARC of Loving the Chase to review! Sharla is becoming one of my go to authors. Her stories are beautiful, heartfelt tales of love that always leave you wanting more.

Loving the Chase follows a family of storm chasers in Texas. While all the family members are heavily involved within the storyline, the main focus is on Zach Chase and his former fiancee Maddi Hayes.

"She was all he ever wanted, and he lost her to a storm."
No, he lost her to being stupid.

The family/storm chasing history as well as Zach and Maddi's is an important part of the story, but at times I felt it made it drag on, making a few parts a little on the boring and bland side. BUT at the same time it piqued my interest enough to keep on reading. I wanted more swoony romance, more heart melting dialogue and mud puddles *wink* and a little less of the reality show set up.

"Because I'd just seen the love of my life after seven years, and she wasn't it" (It'll make more sense once you read the book. My heart melted a little at this part)

When all is said and done, Love always conquers. "His mom told him that he thrived in chaos, but he thrived in this woman too. And she wasn’t chaos. She was his grounding force." I got my Happily Ever After ending and no cliffhanger!! Let's just say from here on out when I'm in a stairwell I'll be thinking of this book with a smile plastered on my face.

"Baby I'm not a perfect man. I'm going to make lots of mistakes, including running off to storms at probably inopportune times--"
Maddi laughed through her tears. "I know."
"But I can promise you this," Zach continued "I will love you forever, Maddi Hayes."

3.5 Windy messy stars

ARC provided through Netgalley for an honest review

This was an unique storyline, one that I have not come across before with other books that I have read and I really enjoyed that.

Zach Chase and his family are storm chasers. They have done this all of their lives and this attracted my attention right away as I have always had an interest in studying tornadoes & bad weather.
Maddie Hayes, is Zach’s one true love. The girl that got away. The one that he has never stopped loving. Maddie thought she had moved on from loving Zach however when her job brings them back together and makes them work with one another on a daily basis old feelings start to resurface and things get very complicated.

“Life is messy baby. It’s raw and gritty. The best stuff always is.”

Zach & Maddie were terrific characters. I loved both of them. They were strong and well developed. The supporting characters were great as well and I liked them all equally. They were funny, sassy and full of spunk. They were really just a fun group to hang out with.

Throughout the story there were times that I had trouble staying interested in it as the supporting characters played a big part throughout the whole book. I felt like I really got to know them well but I really would have liked to have had more Zach & Maddie time. I would have liked the story to get more in depth about Zach & Maddie’s previous relationship and even more one on one time with them in the current time as well.

Overall though I did enjoy this book and I did want to continue reading it to see what would happen in the end.

Once in a while you come across a book that feeds your soul and fills your heart. Don't Let Go is -that- book for me and was one of my top reads of 2014 and will forever remain a top favourite. The storyline is simply unforgettable, an emotional journey that has all the feels!!!

I'm beyond thrilled that DLG was finaaaaally published in paperback.  I've never been so excited to physically hold a book in my hands, flip it's pages and savour each and every word. Every re-read I fall more in love with Jules and Noah's story.  A complicated, multifaceted second chance romance. A relationship 26 years in the making. A tale of how ONE decision can change the course of ones life. A story of breaking free of the hold one person has had on you your entire life and finding your true self, love and happiness.

Sharla Lovelace has a way with words and weaving life lessons seamlessly throughout the book. This is a story that will stick with you, consume you and spit you out a whole new person with a fresh outlook on life.

"Don't Let Go"  I whispered

Three simple words that have so much meaning, history, heartbreak, love and promise behind them.
