Review: The Billionaire Next Door by Jessica Lemmon

Can't Buy Me Love

It's Tag Crane's job to be the life of the party. Traveling from one exotic locale to another is just part of running the luxurious Crane Hotel empire. But even paradise isn't perfect. Devising a new business strategy is keeping Tag up at night-and so is the Great Dane barking at all hours in the apartment below his. To muzzle the problem, Tag charges downstairs . . . right into the most beautiful, blond distraction he's ever seen.

Dog-sitting by day, bartending by night. It's not exactly the life Rachel Foster dreamed of. But when Tag Crane rushes in, all mountain-man shoulders and obscenely sexy smile, needing her help for the Crane Hotels, it's a fantasy come true. What's the harm in a fun no-strings fling? Only a fool would give her heart to a billionaire player like Tag-until suddenly the one man who can't be caught is the one flirting with forever . . .

Author Jessica Lemmon is most definitely quickly becoming one of my favorite Authors! Her characters are just so perfect. The heroes are broken yet still powerful, bossy cocky and sensitive. Her heroines are strong, independent and aren’t willing to take crap off of anyone.

In this second book in the series we get to know Taggart Crane. He is Reese Crane’s brother. Everyone calls him Tag for short. Tag is afraid of commitment. He doesn’t believe that he can do it. He is much more your fun for one night kind of man but when he meets Rachel all that starts to change and he begins to question everything he thought he knew, including whether or not he could actually be boyfriend material.

“I want you to touch me. You’ve been eating me alive with your eyes since I opened my door. You look at me like your shopping for something you can’t afford.”

Rachel has just come out of a relationship with a guy who took her for granted and who took advantage of her. Her self-esteem is at an all- time low and she isn’t looking for love but who can stay away from Tag, not Rachel that’s for sure.

“You don’t need to go slow with me sweetheart.” His voice was gravel-laden, his body aflame. “I’m matching your pace, not the other way around.”

These two were so sweet together. Reading this story certainly gave me that warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Their banter was funny and their push and pull against one another was great. Watching Rachel be able to come out of her shell with Tag was enduring and watching Tag help her do that completely stole my heart. These two were just meant to be, right from the start.

“I didn’t even know I was broken until I met you.”

Review: The Billionaire Bachelor by Jessica Lemmon

Indecent Proposal

Manwhore. That's what the board of directors-and the tabloids-thinks of billionaire bachelor Reese Crane. Ordinarily he couldn't care less, but his playboy past is preventing the board from naming him CEO of Crane Hotels. Nothing-and no one-will keep him from his life's legacy. They want a settled man to lead the company? Then that's exactly what he'll give them.

Merina Van Heusen will do anything to get her parents' funky boutique hotel back-even marry cold-as-ice-but-sexy-as-hell Reese Crane. It's a simple business contract-six months of marriage, absolute secrecy, and the Van Heusen is all hers again. But when sparks fly between them, their passion quickly moves from the boardroom to the bedroom. And soon Merina is living her worst nightmare: falling in love with her husband . . .

The Billionaire Bachelor was a magical gem of a read and very unlike what I expected it to be. Jessica Lemmon really blew me away with this one! I knew within the first chapter of this book that I was going to love it! Love/hate relationships are my weakness. I absolutely love them but at the same time I am very picky about them. This one turned out to be EVERYTHING I crave & want in a good book. Even writing this review now makes me want to erase my memory and read it all over again for the first time so that I can experience all those feelings.

Reese Crane and Merina Van Heusen’s relationship starts out explosive and their predicament just gets worse from there. I felt their chemistry immediately upon their first meeting.

“I am not going to put you out on your fantastic ass Merina.”

“You listen to me, you suited sewer rat.”

Ohhh…I couldn’t wait until they were going to run into one another again. Merina hates Reese, she believes he is a spoiled, self- serving, pompous, philandering playboy but his hotness definitely doesn’t go unnoticed. He, however has just become the new owner of her family’s hotel. A hotel that is near and dear to her heart, one that she hoped would be hers one day but Reese has other plans for it. Reese wants to be CEO of his Father’s company, he believes this is his legacy in life but some don’t think he is the best fit for the job due to his unattached life style, meaning no wife. This leads Reese to come up with a business proposition for Merina. YEP you guessed it, they can’t stand each other so what should they do? GET MARRIED that seems like the only logical choice, right? YES, YES, YES, PLEASE!

This is where the fireworks really go off! I mean like they are exploding everywhere!

“It’s occurring to me I didn’t negotiate enough into my end of the deal, Crane. Enduring you is more difficult than I anticipated.”

Yea right, it’s more like not jumping his bones is harder than she thought it would be! Gaawd Reese and Merina were a perfect match! They complimented one another so well and boy did they ever challenge one another. The push and pull was brilliant and engaging. Their sexual chemistry was out of this world but the one thing I found most heartwarming about their love story was even though they started out hating one another they were still always somewhat respectful of one another and always had each others back and I really liked that.

This story was flawlessly written, very enjoyable, steeeeamy as all get out and I REALLY couldn’t get enough of it. I was totally bummed to have it end. I am now a Jessica Lemmon fan!! I am so hoping there will be more books in this series I NEED to get to know the other Crane brothers and maybe get a little glimpse of Reese & Merina in the future??
