Review By Dawn
I received an ARC copy for an honest review. Before reading
Fighting For It, I had never heard of Jennifer Fusco. The synopsis
caught my eye & I'm glad it did. It's about a boxer who tries to
make a comeback to save his manager's gym.
Jack Brady lost his last fight overseas, a major fight at that.
After that loss, his life went downhill. The girl he loved went away
to college, his manager, RL Chambers, passed away and he started
drinking. Then one day that girl he loved long ago, came back into his
life...as his manager. RL Chambers, Jack's old manager, left his gym,
Stamina, to his daughter, Daniella Chambers. When she walked back into
Jack's life, all of those feelings he felt 10 years ago came back, but
he wouldn't let her know that. Stubborn man he is.
Daniella is there to get her father's gym back into shape. In
order to do that, Jack needs to win the next fight he was scheduled for
before RL died. She was determined to get him back in shape, but didn't
realize old feelings would come back. Whisking Jack off to her dad's
cabin in Tahoe was the best way to get him back in shape for the next
fight. He didn't have the city life (bars) of Vegas to distract him.
There was fresh air & serenity. While there, they were able to
reconnect and boy did they.
Was all of the training worth it in the end? Did Jack
accomplish his task of winning the fight? There were some rough times
and exciting moments that happened throughout but you will have to read
it to find out. It's well worth it!
I'm always nervous when I try a new author, but have found, in
the past, some of my favorite authors that way. I loved this book.
Loved the romance in it. Loved the feelings it gave me when Dani and
Jack were together or when the story took a turn that made my heart
race. There were a few parts that slowed down a bit, but it was details
that were necessary for the story. Thank you Jennifer for giving me
the opportunity to read this novel. I can't wait to check out the rest
of this series.
