But when Eli’s bride runs off with Gwen’s fiancée on his wedding day, they are left to pick up the broken pieces of each other...

JJ McVoy officially has a new fan. ME! My blog partner has been raving about this book since she read it and when I saw it available on NetGalley I thought what the heck! Holy moly, I am glad that I did. This book was everything I could have wished for.

The story starts out with one hell of a shock. I was like wait a minute did I just read that right? Did that really just happen? My heart sunk and I felt so much empathy for these two characters. But the story doesn’t stop there, oh no, it is just beginning and it builds and builds from there.

THE BANTER! OMG THE BANTER! It was perfect! There is no other word for it. I love good banter in a book and this one didn’t disappoint me. Eli & Gwen could definitely go at it, in all aspects of their relationship really. Eli was snotty, egotistical and downright rude and sometimes I wanted to slap him. Gwen was sassy and caring but also not afraid to give it right back to Eli and boy did she ever. Just thinking about it makes me want to read this book all over again. Their relationship builds slowly, it’s definitely not love at first site. Not even like at first site but as they find common ground and a fondness for one another you can’t help but fall in love with them falling in love. They were just a perfect match for one another in every way. I totally loved every minute of their story!!!

5 "If I fuck you in the forest and no one is around to hear it, how loud will you sound." Stars

There definitely is something between Eli & Gwen-- my heart! This book completely owns me and I am 110% in manic fan girl mode over it! I couldn't stop myself from loving this book even if I wanted to. I was seduced, entranced, captivated and am now currently being held hostage by JJ's words.

I CRAVE more.
I NEED more.
Hell I just WANT more!

The only way I can see myself getting over this one is for McAvoy to write a cure for my hangover...and I'm not above begging. That Thing Between Eli & Gwen is -MY- 'moment of peace in a life of chaos.' and I reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally need more! I tried to read as slow as I could but even that didn't stop this fabulous story from ending *sobs* I felt completely lost after finishing.

Known for her darker writing, TTBE&G is a true testament of McAvoy's talent. She can write any trope and genre she sets her mind on. She sure knocked this enemies, to friends, to lovers story line out of the wet-panty-oMg-I-need-to-
Orgasm-RIGHT-NOW-stratosphere. I'm in complete awe. Full of sexual tension, chemistry, lust, witty, flirty and sometimes hurtful banter, it had all the feels that make my heart go 'pitter-patter' while reading. AND OHMYHOLYSHIT! THE SWOON FACTOR, this book is dripping sopping wet in it! Hellllp! I'm drowning here *wink*

The whole "partner swap" kind of made me chuckle but I love how it made the plot progress. 'all that was left was Guinevere and Eli, les miserables.' Two people who could truly understand and empathize with what the other was dealing with, grieving and going through. Watching them transition from enemies to friends then to lovers was a epic journey of learning to trust, to let go of things and live in the moment and above all else to move forward in life with each other. OOOOOMMMMMGGGGGGGG!!!!!

"The one thing I love about us, Guinevere, is that we talk, we laugh, we tease each other, we laugh more, and we drink. Before being my girlfriend, you were my friend; I love that."
