Review: Pucked Over by Helena Hunting

Lily LeBlanc isn’t versed in the art of casual sex, but after seven years in an on-again, off-again relationship, she’s definitely willing to give it a shot. And who better to try it with than her best friend’s boyfriend’s best friend? What could possibly go wrong? Nothing at all.

NHL player, Randy Ballistic, lives up to his last name on the ice and in the bedroom. His best friend and teammate has recently given up the puck bunnies and traded them in for a real girlfriend. And she just happens to have a seriously feisty, extra-hot best friend on the rebound. Randy’s more than happy to be Lily’s spring board back into the dating scene.

Casual sex is only casual until those pesky things called emotions get involved. Once that happens, someone’s bound to gets pucked over.

5/5 STARS

My blog partner Amanda has been raving about this series since she read the first book. So when we received an invite to receive an ARC of this book I thought I would give it a try and see what all the hype was about. To be honest I have never been a hockey fan. I’m not sure why but it is just a sport that has never really interested me. However…. I’m pretty sure that’s all about to change after reading Pucked Over! Point me to the hockey players pleeeeeease!

This was such a sweet, heartwarming story with very low drama. I love these kinds of easy reads where you feel a connection right away with the characters and fall in love with them and their story. I was invested in both Randy & Lily right from the very beginning. I read this one very slowly on purpose because I wanted to savor that feel good feeling, you know the one where you have butterflies in your stomach and you are sighing because you love the book so much. Yes this story gave me that.

Randy & Lily’s relationship was so much fun. They had hilarious sarcastic and sometimes very naughty banter with one another. Their personalities were so funloving and they were incredible together in the bedroom…..or bathroom……or car….or anywhere really for that matter! LOL
Their love for one another developed slowly and over time, it wasn’t rushed or instant love but it was instant lust, which we all know can definitely happen.

Helena Hunting will most certainly have a hit on her hands with this one and now I need to go back and read the first two books because I know I will love them as much as I did this one. Pucked Over was a fun, loving, hot, sexy read with outstanding writing and very, very loveable characters. Excellent book!

I am absolutely loving this sports romance series!! It's light and funny and complicated and emotional all at the same time!!! Pucked and Pucked Up were fantastic reads but I think Randy Ballistic may have won my heart!!!! Don't get me wrong I love insta love and alphas but it was such a nice change to read a book where they actually start as somewhat friends and work their way towards it....

Straight laced Lily is on the rebound and thinks Randy may just be the distraction she needs, Randy is a known manwhore but has this undeniable attraction to Lily, so they decide to have some fun while it lasts but as soon as it gets to serious they have to break it off. Well this leads to some seriously hilarious encounters or should I say bathroom counters!!!! Anyways when things go beyond friends with benefits can Randy Balls man up or this the end of something that could have been epic??????

I'm really hoping this isn't the end of this series. Helena has this comical sports romance down pat and I want more!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review: Pucked Up by Helena Hunting

Miller “Buck” Butterson has been banging his way through life ever since a puck to the face fixed his messed up front teeth, and he was drafted into the NHL during his first year of college. After five years of deflecting goals on the ice and scoring them with puck bunnies across the Continental US and parts of Canada, Miller is ready for a girlfriend. A real girlfriend of the non-bunny variety. One he takes on dates and doesn’t jump into bed with after five seconds of conversation.

Miller thinks he’s found that woman in his teammate’s sister. Except, unlike Alex Waters, center, team captain and all round nice guy—who happens to be dating his step-sister—Miller’s manwhore reputation is well earned, and not blown out of proportion by the media. Beyond that minor detail, Miller doesn’t know the first thing about having a girlfriend. But he’s determined to make it happen.

What he doesn’t take into account is the amount of time and effort relationships require, or that constantly letting bunnies take selfies with him to post all over social media isn’t going to win him any points in the boyfriend department. Miller learns—not so quickly—that if he wants to make Sunshine “Sunny” Waters fall for him, he going to have to do a whole lot more than show her his stick skills in the bedroom.

Motherpucker, Helena did it again!!! Pucked up was HILARIOUS!!!

This is the story of Miller "Buck" Butterson. Team mate of Alex Waters and brother to Vi. Renowned playboy, Buck loved his puck bunnies, that was until he met Alex Waters sister Sunny. Now Sunny didn't just jump him like every other woman and he has to work to get the relationship he wants with her. Although he is avoiding all women, he still manages to get himself in some awkward situations with the bunnies and of course they keep showing up on social media for Sunny to see. It isn't that Sunny is a jealous woman but after you see gorgeous woman draped all over your man day after day you have to start to think it might not be worth it...

I loved Buck he was so sweet and actually had some depth to him. Sunny was also an amazing character who I felt people could relate too. And some of the ridiculous situations they got themselves into were hilarious! I, myself, couldn't put the book down because I had to know what crazy mishaps was going to happen next and of course to find out if they could make it work.

All in all I PUCKING loved this book. It was a light, easy, funny read mixed with some steam and drama. Perfection!!
