Review: This is Beautiful by Kennedy Fox

The anticipated conclusion of the Logan & Kayla saga in the Checkmate Duet Series from a secret duo under the USA Today bestselling author pseudonym, Kennedy Fox!

This second-chance romance will have you gasping and cheering this two on from the first to the last page! Are you ready to play the final game?

Kayla Sinclair is a saint and real life Angel.
She wears her heart on her sleeve and inspires me to be a better person.
Rescuing dogs, feeding the homeless, volunteering at the local food pantry are just a few of the ways she gives back to others, although no one has ever been there for her.
Falling for her was inevitable, losing her will destroy me.

Letting someone in didn't come easy, but she made me want to try for the first time in years.
Her bubbling personality and kind spirit make it impossible to forget a girl like her.
But when tragedy strikes and she loses all memory that our relationship ever existed, my worst nightmare comes to life.

I'll do anything to remind her of the love we shared. I know it'll be an uphill battle, but I won't walk away without a fight. Whoever said all is fair in love and war never played by my rules.

Checkmate, Angel.

*Recommend for ages 18+ due to sexual content and adult language.*

**This is book w in the Logan & Kayla Saga--a second-chance romance. Must read This is Dangerous first. However, you don't need to read any of the other Checkmate duet series to enjoy this one, but it's recommended as they are both introduced in the earlier books.**

5 'Seeing things from a different light now.' Stars

When it comes to Kennedy Fox, I just can't even. Seriously. Their writing, characters, all of it sets my heart aflutter into a book nerd's cloud nine. It's a sexy, super addictive journey, and I always look forward to whats to come in the next installment. They've yet to disappoint my picky book palate! I simply heart the duo that is KF.

Emotionally raw and poignantly told, Kennedy Fox really dug the knife in deep with this one!! I knew it would hurt. I knew it would be emotionally draining and consume me right to the very last page. I knew my heart would bleed and my soul would ache, but this much? GAH. Just as soon as things would settle, good ole KF would give the knife a little twist and make my heart clench and bleed yet again. Now, after the cliff we'd be left hanging from at the end of This is Dangerous I thought I knew what was coming, had an inkling of how to prepare for This is Beautiful. I didn't. Not even a little bit, obviously the joke was on me LOL and fml. KF-1, April-0.

'Every time he looks at me, I know there's something deeply rooted there. It's just buried a little too far for me to find.'

Don't worry! There are lots of laugh out loud moments and hilarious banter and donut fantasies come to life *wink* This is Beautiful has it all!!! It's a well rounded book... ok that's a lame attempt at a donut joke bahaha!

This is Beautiful was such sweet torture, the best, most perfect and unexpected way to wrap up a duet and a series/saga all in one fell swoop. Knowing this was the final book going in, I was sad but the lessons, reawakening and rebirth of sorts within left me feeling happy and content by books end. Kayla and Logan are the perfect couple, so deserving of their beautiful Happily Ever After.

Checkmate! Kennedy Fox have won my heart fair and square.

Review: Dr. NEUROtic by Max Monroe

From the New York Times & USA Today bestselling author of TAPPING THE BILLIONAIRE comes a new three book series of Romantic Comedy standalones.

I’m Dr. Nick Raines.
Brain surgeon and notorious over-thinker, I take the analytical approach with everything, until I can determine the best, carefully calculated plan of action. It’s no shock the producers of the popular reality series The Doctor Is In have decided to call me Dr. Neurotic.

Besides my more than full-time job as Chief of Neurosurgery at St. Luke’s Hospital, I’m a single dad and my number one priority is my daughter.

But life had plans to add another priority to my list.
Charlotte Hollis. Outspoken, impulsive, and beautiful, she’s everything I didn’t know I was craving.

She makes me wonder What if?

What if I don’t have to be alone for the rest of my life to give my little girl the father she deserves?

It's a battle—my battle: Head vs. Heart.

5 'Head versus Heart.' Stars

Well, hello, Doctor! Gosh! Max Monroe sure know how to sweep me off my feet with their sexy, irresistible, and charming men. The Doctor certainly IS IN... if you're pickin' up what I'm layin' down here *wink*

We've met Dr. OBscene and Dr. ERotic thus far in the DocuSeries, But holy sweet jumping jacks! Dr. NEUROtic is where IT IS AT! Nick Raines... Oh. Boy. Somebody better ring the alarm cause it's hotter than hell up in here! This book has is all! From sweet tender kisses to melty swoon factor, heartache, regret, angst and soooo much love. I DEVOURED this book in a couple hours. Could not, would not put it down. Nick. Nick. Nick. GD!

Nick's story is one of making amends of past regrets and severed ties, building and fortifying relationships and stepping up to be the man and father he should have been from day one. Life isn't about dollar signs and it took him a bit to realize this... perhaps a little too late... perhaps just at the right time. With his priorities straight, Charlotte helps him see there is more to life than work. *wink*
Cameos of some past fave MM characters appear throughout this story so you kinda get another side of another book *gasp* Dr. NEUROtic is hands down my fave of the series! Absofreakinlutely adored it!

"I always thought it was a battle- head versus heart."
"But it's not. Life's about both. You use your head to protect the ones in your heart. Nothing else matters."

Review: Hate To Love You by Tijan

Rule #1: No hot guys.
It might sound ridiculous. I get it. It kind of is, but college was supposed to be my sanctuary. It was my place to start over. The rumors, the whispers, and the jealousy I endured through high school would all be gone.
No one would know me at college.

Rule #2: No drama.
I’d major in pre-law. I’d make a few loyal friends. Everything would be easy breezy. No one was going to use me or hurt me. I wouldn’t let them.

Rule #3: New year. New place. New me.
And all because of Shay Coleman.

Football captain and quarterback, he was the big guy on campus. The cocky guy in my political science class with a smirk. I hated him on sight . . .

. . . and he was about to break all my rules.

5 'Keep walking, Hard-On.' Stars

Eff me with a capital F! I've been -Tijaned- yet again! I fell hard, hard, HARD for this one! Hate to Love you is a story that grabbed me by the lady balls and completely sucked me down the rabbit hole of hate to love at Dulane. I could not get enough of this book, there's just something about the combination of Tijan and NA that gets me fictionally high... like whoa, it's a bit euphoric!

'This guy had power over me that I didn't like, power over me that no other guy had had before. It was because he was Mr. Superstar at this college. That was all.'

I freaking LOVE the shizzit out of the hate/enemies to lovers trope. The thrill of the chase, the banter, the relentless push and pull that is beyond magnetic, the undeniable attraction and denial of said attraction, the angst... the gnawing of my finger nails, the feeling of it all is just one huge SQUEE!!!! When they finally cave and give in and get together, you can almost hear angels sing 'aaaahhhh' LOL Yeah, I adore it just a lil bit * wink * ... and the sexy AF hero is always welcome to tag along and join my book bf collection.

Feisty, strong, and fiercely independent, Kennedy Clarke doesn't mind standing up for herself and her beliefs. She may come off a bit harsh initially, but once you get to know her you can't help but want to dig in and figure out what made her turn her nose up at love and friends.

'I could feel him, all of him. His hand fell to my waist, rounded over my hip and he tugged me closer. I was lined up against him, and I could feel more that just his jeans. "We hate each other. Fine. But not right now." His lips nipped at mine. I felt them smile as he murmured, "I don't hate you right now at all." But he would. I would.

Oblivious to his charm and smirk, Shay Coleman is the top dog on campus. QB of the football team, heartthrob and panty melter of college girls and 30 something year old readers alike... GAH! You seriously need to meet him!!

"...but I'd do it again."

I'm not going to dish many, if any of the details of Hate to Love You as this book went in a couple directions that I did not see coming AT ALL! Major freaking HOLY SH!T stuff happens in this book!! This gem is a book that needs to be experienced first hand. The feels and emotions are real. I laughed, swooned SO hard, and was blindsided by tears of sheer perfect moments. GD the sudden onset of emotions leaking from my eyes. I'm not crying, you're crying!!!! I didn't cry, but then maybe I did... who knows bahaha :D I'll never tell. FML.

Review: Ghosted by J.M. Darhower

He's a troubled young actor, Hollywood's newest heartthrob, struggling with fame as the star of the latest superhero franchise. Through scandal after scandal, addiction on top of addiction, a flurry of paparazzi hunt him as he fights to conquer his demons.

She's a single mother, assistant manager at a grocery store, existing in monotony with her five-year-old daughter. Every day when she goes to work, lurid tabloids surround her, the face of a notorious bad boy haunting her from their covers.

A man and a woman, living vastly different lives, but that wasn't always the case. Once, they were just a boy and a girl who bonded over comic books and fell in love unexpectedly.

When Kennedy Garfield met Jonathan Cunningham back in high school, she knew he had all the makings of a tragic hero. With stars in his eyes, and her heart on her sleeve, the pair ran away together to follow their dreams.

But dreams, sometimes, turn into nightmares.

Now, years later, the only thing they share is a daughter—one who has no idea her father plays her favorite superhero. But Jonathan is desperate to make amends, and at the top of his list is the woman who gave up everything for him and the little girl he hasn't yet met.

'You know he's around, you can feel him ghosting across your skin, but unless he shows himself to you, you can't see him, looking right through him like he's not even there.'

I think this might be my new all-time favourite book ever. Holyfreakingsh*t! I fell so truly, madly, and deeply in love with this book! Just like the Savage Garden song lol. So fierce! So much LOVE! GAH!!!! If I had known losing my J.M. Darhower cherry would be this EPIC I would have done it a long, long time ago.

'The fire? It still burns.'
''Something tells me it always will, no matter who tries to put it out.'

I tend to love a lot of books, but Ghosted is on a completely whole other level here, I'm talking the holy grail level of book love! THIS BOOK! I just can't even! I'm still floating high right now with all the feels and emotions, and FML, what I'd give or do just to be able to read this book all over again for the first time. I. Did. Not. Want. It. To. End! This is one of those books I could read forever and it still wouldn't be long enough. This hangover is going to be brutal, but so very worth it!

With a unique, intense and thoroughly addictive story line, J.M Darhower had me hooked and engrossed from the first chapter. This story grabbed hold of me and didn't let go but that's ok, because I couldn't put the book down even if I had wanted to. This second chance romance owned me from start to finish and gd what an amazing ride it was!

"There's no way to sugar coat it, no pretty words I can conjure up to turn it into something sweet, not when I'm so bitter. You're the caterpillar that went into the cocoon and emerged a glorious butterfly, but I'm the reminder that butterflies don't stick around long, a few weeks at most before they're gone."

The complexities of the story line and how intricately woven Ghosted is completely blew me away, just how everything came full circle had me like whoa... dude!! It was insane! I loved everything about this book, never a dull moment or lull. The pace and transition from past to present and the twist of how the past was executed was brilliant! How the book as a whole was executed was brilliant. J.M. Darhower is brilliant! Brilliant!!!! I swear this is the most ultimate and epic second chance romance book to ever exist. GAH! Sit down, strap in and enjoy the ride! Its a bumpy one! Angst for miles, inner turmoil & regret dripping off the pages, balanced beautifully with the wit and charm of the most adorable five year old to ever fictionally exist!

Young love and a rising star in Hollywood spelled disaster for Kennedy Garfield and Jonathan Cunningham. The demons of drugs and alcohol ripping and shredding apart the dreams of young love... welcome to Ghosted this is their story!

"He's just an addict, and your daughter was his first high."

You know when you sit there hugging your e-reader time and time again with a goofy grin plastered on your face, or with tears of happiness streaming down your face, or just because the mood strikes; it was a really stinkin' great read! If you only read one book this year... *hint hint hint*  *wink* #breezeo #snowflake #TopRead
