Review: When It's Real by Erin Watt

From #1 New York Times bestselling author duo Erin Watt comes the addictive contemporary tale of a teen rock star in need of an image makeover and the teen girl hired to be his fake girlfriend.

Meet Oakley Ford-teen celebrity, renowned pop star, child of famous movie stars, hottie with millions of fangirls… and restless troublemaker. On the surface he has it all, but with his home life disintegrating, his music well suddenly running dry, and the tabloids having a field day over his outrageous exploits, Oakley's team decides it's time for an intervention. The result: an image overhaul, complete with a fake girlfriend meant to show the world he's settled down.

Enter seventeen-year-old Vaughn Bennett-devoted sister, part-time waitress, the definition of "normal." Under ordinary circumstances she'd never have taken this gig, but with her family strapped for cash, she doesn't have much of a choice. And for the money Oakley's team is paying her, she figures she can put up with outlandish Hollywood parties and a team of publicists watching her every move. So what if she thinks Oakley's a shallow, self-centered jerk? It's not like they're going to fall for each other in real life…right?

4.5 'Genuine and sweet' Stars.

As a HUGE fan of Erin Watt's Royals series, of course I jumped head first into this book! And blind to boot. I'm not sure exactly what I was expecting other than another epic fictional adventure but man oh man, this duo delivers hard!

Truthfully, it took me a little bit to get into this story but once I'd fallen for the pop star vs. normal girl story line and it's cast of characters I was one smitten kitten. Yes! Parts of this story had me purring *wink* I tried to resist the temptation and general luring that comes with Oakley, but a girl is only so strong to resist such advances. I was a goner.

When It's Real is genuine and sweet. It had me reminiscing back to my younger days of boy band crushes and the whole fascination with the celebrity world as a whole, and young love; stirring up butterflies of fantasies gone by. GAH!

Oakley and Vaughn are complex, a bit complicated with a whole slew of emotional baggage. Though they are teens, it's by no fault of their own. Life is messy whether you're born into wealth and the celebrity life style, or born into the normal world. From the resistant push to the unwavering pull, through ups and downs and personal growth, this story that started as a fake charade turns into one of the most adorable realities. Love is a wonderful thing!

Erin Watt have successfully turned my world upside down with another stellar addition to their literary goldmine of addictive reads! A fresh, new direction for this duo, making When It's Real a top read of 2017.

4 "So. That was... intense." Stars

The evil, genius, mastermind duo behind Erin Watt have utterly ruined me with 'These Royals', penning one hell of a series that has captivated the hearts of readers worldwide and have made us addicts to their brand of literary crack!! Queens of the cliffhanger, Erin Watt has taken the book world by storm! And gd, I'm loving this storm! Rage on!

"I've run through these last few years with little regard for anyone but myself. I was proud of being an unfeeling asshole. Is this karma?"

No messing around. Twisted Palace picks up exactly where Broken Prince left us hanging... once  again... battered and torn with shattered hearts, gasping for our next breath. Erin Watt takes suspense to a whole new level. The anticipation, uncertainty, and strain throughout this series, especially in Twisted Palace is beyond intense. It's nerve wracking. Just OMG GAAAAAAAH!!!!!!! I swear I've lost years off my life.

"I've gotten a free pass my entire life because I'm a Royal."

Until now, that is. Papa Smurf can't buy Reed's way out of this new hellish reality he now faces. The cards are stacked against him. Seemingly impenetrable. Save yourself or save your family's reputation? Scantily placed clues that will eat at you, chew you up and blindside you when revealed. Sometimes the smallest words and phrases hold the biggest clues *wink* Fear not, there are laugh out loud moments... or maybe I'm just inappropriate under duress... that's yet to be decided.

"If you're my date, you better have brought me an awesome floral arrangement. Someone told me you can tell the size of a guy's dick based on the amount of flowers he buys"

My emotions were all over the place with this doozy! At times I wanted to beat my head off a wall, scream.. just NO NO NO NOOOOOOOO!!!! I guess that's what the 'Royal decree' will do to you-- unleash the frantic within.

F. Me.
Royal teenage drama is unlike any other. Oy vey!
"I don't show weakness. Ever. The only person I've been able to lower my guard around is Ella. That girl has the power to smash through my barriers and actually see me. The real me, and not the cold, callous ass that the rest of the world sees."

Although I'm content with 'The End'
I NEED MORE!!!
I still have so many questions, thoughts... no way can this be over.

"The Royals are like the apple in the fairy tale. Golden on the outside, but rotten to the core."
#TeamReed4Life

Behind us is the tormented and terrible past. In front of us is our unblemished future. I'm not looking back again.

*insert happy sigh here*

Royals, Royals, Royals. You guys just get better and better I swear just when I think you are as bad as can be you go and do something sweet and thoughtful and make me love you all even more than I already did. Twisted Palace was a great ending to the series. Lines were definitely drawn, sides were taken and some shocking secrets were revealed. The Royals, counting Ella of course went from being a group of people that were disconnected from one another, not accepting of others and downright snobby as hell to a happy family of sorts. I really enjoyed seeing Ella get her happily ever after. It turns out that even though the Royal boys didn’t want or like her at first, she was just what they needed to heal them and bring them together again.

I will miss this conniving, scheming little group immensely.

Thank you Erin Watt for giving us these Royals! They have been entertaining as hell, shocking to say the least, corrupt as all get out but in the end they are family and family sticks together NO MATTER WHAT!

“I’m a Royal, baby. I don’t run. I fight”

and fight they will......

Review: Broken Prince by Erin Watt

These Royals will ruin you…

From wharf fights and school brawls to crumbling lives inside glittery mansions, one guy tries to save himself.

Reed Royal has it all―looks, status, money. The girls at his elite prep school line up to date him, the guys want to be him, but Reed never gave a damn about anyone but his family until Ella Harper walked into his life.

What started off as burning resentment and the need to make his father’s new ward suffer turned into something else entirely―keep Ella close. Keep Ella safe. But when one foolish mistake drives her out of Reed’s arms and brings chaos to the Royal household, Reed’s entire world begins to fall apart around him.

Ella doesn’t want him anymore. She says they’ll only destroy each other.

She might be right.

Secrets. Betrayal. Enemies. It’s like nothing Reed has ever dealt with before, and if he’s going to win back his princess, he’ll need to prove himself Royally worthy.

5 'You can take your sorries and choke on them' Stars

The mastermind duo behind Erin Watt return with one doozy of a nerve wracking, jaw dropping, roller-coaster ride of a follow up to Paper Princess. You've been warned! Sit back, strap in and enjoy the raw and powerful literary ride that is Broken Prince.

'Ella's love made me believe that I could be a better person.'

Oh sweet merciful jesus err, book fairies *gasp* What did I just read?!!? This book, this series--it's like no other! "These Royals will ruin you." No, I'm pretty sure these Royals are going to kill me by series end. GAH! My nerves, they're shot!! I was so nervous to read this installment. I mean, HELLO!! That was one hell of a cliffhanger we were left dangling off the proverbial edge of at the end of Paper Princess.

'Reid's betrayal lives inside of me now. It slinks through my veins like a black tar, attacking what's left of my heart like a fast-acting cancer.'

Excuse me for a moment while I pick my jaw up off the floor and digest all these thoughts and feelings.

'I should have known better. I've spent my entire life in the gutter, frantically trying to crawl my way out of it.'

Picking up where Paper Princess ended, we're quickly tossed back in the realm of the Royals. Very quickly, all the theories floating around in my head were tossed aside. Complete rubbish. Apparently I do not possess the "author brain" that these evil genius' do.

'My connection to him is... complicated. Even I can't make sense of it half the time. I just know that I get him on a deeper level, that his loss speaks to mine. That his happiness stirs my own. That his struggle to find some sense in this crazy world is as familiar to me as my own skin.'

I'm head over heels in love with this series! Every damn thing about it makes me bookgasm and crave more. These characters are stripped bare so we can see how perfectly flawed and real they each are. Each one adding individual substance and flair. A story so intricately woven with just the right amounts of angst, lust, deceit, secrets, humor and plot twists. It all makes this book so deliciously decadent and an un-put-down-able read, surpassing all expectations and will keep you constantly guessing.

Not all is as it appears in the Royal world.
*evil grin* Let the vicious cycle continue!!!

'You know I'd do anything for you... Absolutely anything to keep you safe.'

Anxiously awaiting Twisted Palace!!

Review: Paper Princess by Erin Watt

From strip clubs and truck stops to southern coast mansions and prep schools, one girl tries to stay true to herself.

These Royals will ruin you…

Ella Harper is a survivor—a pragmatic optimist. She’s spent her whole life moving from town to town with her flighty mother, struggling to make ends meet and believing that someday she’ll climb out of the gutter. After her mother’s death, Ella is truly alone.

Until Callum Royal appears, plucking Ella out of poverty and tossing her into his posh mansion among his five sons who all hate her. Each Royal boy is more magnetic than the last, but none as captivating as Reed Royal, the boy who is determined to send her back to the slums she came from.

Reed doesn’t want her. He says she doesn’t belong with the Royals.

He might be right.

Wealth. Excess. Deception. It’s like nothing Ella has ever experienced, and if she’s going to survive her time in the Royal palace, she’ll need to learn to issue her own Royal decrees.

Review by Jennifer (Copy provided for an honest review)

Watch out world there is a new family in town. They are very powerful and influential. They are sneaky and mischievous and the boys can be downright spiteful if you cross them. You would be well advised to not trust them, not even for a second BUT make no mistake, they will suck you into their world and you will love every agonizing minute of it. You will probably even ask for more by the time they are done with you. What family is this you ask, well… say hello to the THE ROYALS.

Ohhh this book was good! It grabs you from the first page. The heroine Ella is fantastic and is the perfect rival for these Royals. She didn’t take any crap of them or anyone else for that matter. She is strong, resilient and feisty and I loved her sparring with pretty much everyone in the story. She most definitely had her hands full throughout this book.

Reed Royal is a spoiled brat. He is used to getting anything he wants and he wants Ella gone or so he thinks he does. I didn’t start off liking Reed but he grew on me as the story progressed but when it ended I was right back to not knowing if I liked him or not. (you’ll see why once you read it) The tension between these two was ample and their hateful banter was something else entirely.

You gotta read this book. You have to meet these characters! There are so many twists and even more secrets you won’t know if you are coming or going and you sure the hell won’t trust anyone! Now, go buy it, clear you schedule and spend some time with the Royals.
