Review: My Week With The Bad Boy by: Brooke Cumberland & Lyra Parish

Never trust a man who answers the front door wearing nothing more than a pair of low-cut jeans and a panty-melting smirk.

That should’ve been my first sign.

I write about guys just like him for a living—sexy and charming, yet reluctant to get into a serious relationship. His body screams sex appeal, but his condescending personality makes him a classic fuckboy.

And I want nothing to do with that.

Writing romance novels comes with its perks—traveling, meeting new people, creating characters from the voices in my head—but Ethan Rochester enters my life and rearranges all my preconceived notions about writing what inspires you.

One week is all it took. One week to realize that not everything is as it seems.

One week with the bad boy, and I wanted more.

5 'Horngry.' Stars

Smuttastic, addictive AF with a side of emotionally gripping turmoil, My Week with the Bad Boy is sure to be a hit! I seriously cannot get enough of this duo, whether they're writing as Kennedy Fox or as Brooke & Lyra; I have a book nerd lady boner for their work. There. The secret is out. Because, yes, I am addicted to their books and I get beyond giddy when one lands on my kindle and I can't stop there. No. I need to own physical copies of each of their books. Because #booklove is a real thing, people. Perhaps it borders on obsession but omfg its fun, and it's so easy to get lost within the pages of their books and devour them within a few short hours. They are THAT awesome!!

Prepare to laugh, sizzle and swoon, and maybe shed a few tears. The feels are real with this one folks!! It's a full out sexual and emotional roller-coaster through the highs and lows of all life's glory and unfortunate occasions. There's angst and sexual tension... and relief *wink* for days and days *cue the uncontrollable goofy grin* EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEk!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, this book serves IT up! It's a seriously smoking hot, thigh clenching, tear jerker of a really, really gd good time!

Vada Collins has been repeatedly burnt by love; singed to the core. She's closed off, but able to get the job done herself *wink* Ethan Rochester may look the part of the bad boy, my God he's so freaking hot. But he's broken, unable to move ahead with life, and just forget it when it comes to anything about love.

The chemistry between these two from the get-go was off the charts! I'm talking full on giddy-squee mode feels here. In all the books I've read I can honestly say I've never championed for, or wanted, and prayed, and begged the book gods for two characters to heel their hurts, to forgive the mistrusts of the past and GET TOGETHER! God they're so right and perfect for each other, and they just belong together. Forever. Happily Ever After style. Forever and ever... can I get an amen?!

Now, I sit and (im)patiently wait for Olivia's book. Hurry up spring 2018!!!!

Cover Reveal: Breaking The Limits by Brooke Cumberland

BTL Banner

Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.
That seems to be my lifelong theme.
With a string of heartaches behind me, I’m no longer falling for their one-liners.

When the opportunity arises to study abroad in London for a semester, I can’t pack my bags fast enough.

Bringing a new outlook with me,
I leave my broken heart and memories of the past behind and set out on the adventure of a lifetime.
One chance meeting leads to the hottest night of my life.
All I know is his name and that’s enough for me.
After all, isn’t that what one-night stands are all about?

But everything changes that first day of class.
The guy that I left without so much as a goodbye the morning after the most mind-blowing sex of my life is standing in front of me—introducing himself as Professor Cox.

Now I must sit in his class and pretend like nothing happened.
But that’s harder than it sounds.
What feels so right can only go wrong if I try breaking the limits of my already-broken heart.

Review: Pushing The Limits by Brooke Cumberland

From USA Today Bestselling Author comes a new contemporary student/teacher romance standalone...

He’s my art professor.
I’m his student.
With an electric connection and undeniable chemistry, I know it won’t be long until one of us cracks.

When the opportunity arises to pose naked for the entire art class, I can’t help the thrill of knowing he’ll be watching me.
While they all look past me with their eyes narrowed and concentrated, drawing only the lines and angles of my body, he sees right through me down to my vulnerability.
He sees more than just the physical aspects—he sees me.
That’s when I see the struggle in his features as he tries to stay in control.

How do we keep our distance when everything seems to be pulling us together?
What feels so right can only go wrong if we keep pushing the limits.

My Raw & Unconventional 5 Star Review
Reader Discretion is Advised ;)

1st thing first- I'm a sucker for a student/teacher book. Oh, the forbidden TABOO! They're my dirty little pleasure reads. No secrets or guilt here. I own it.

Secondly- this book has been taunting me for days! DAYS!! Showing up in my news-feed ALL.THE.TIME. Just non-stop taunting..all.."buy me" "buy me" "you know you want to" Yep,I really do but I must resist the temptation for now.

Third thing- temptation won. Ok, so I managed to NOT cave for SIX days!..then lastnight happened. It was just too much, I couldn't resist any longer.

I always find it funny how Authors say their characters talk to them and lead them on a literary a book just writes itself. Well, that's what this book did. It spoke to me on so many different levels- and good gawd, what an adventure it was! I -devoured- this book. And this weird review seems to be writing itself.. cause this is so different from any other review I've written.

I went into this book blind (it's my favourite way) only knowing it was Student/Teacher. Ya know, taboo at its finest! I'm also a huge cover wh*re too. You have to admit that cover is smokin' HAWT!

It's also rare that I'll toss my tablet aside mid book and go search the Author's website in hopes that signed copies are available for purchase. And! Ta-Da! It is! SCORE!!

Pushing the Limits is far more than your typical elicit Student/Teacher (in this case Professor) affair that always ends up putting the H/h in the hot seat, getting caught, forced to break up, etc, etc, you know how they all play out. Although focused on college, art, relationships and survival, it touches on deeper issues- everyday struggles and turmoil that REAL people are unwillingly faced with and must deal with every second of every day. End it, or somehow find a way to cope and go on. The aftermath of one's decision can haunt you for years.

Now that I've gone all "Debbie Downer"...

There is sooooo much sexual tension, chemistry and sexxxy times in this book! You'll be wringing out your panties one minute, then full blown ugly snot crying the next. Yep! ALL.THE.FEELS! The angst and turmoil are dripping off the pages. And of course I absolutely loved every freaking minute of it! It just balanced the whole book so perfectly, giving it substance and one hell of a storyline. The characters, secondary included, were so well thought out and developed I felt as if I knew them personally. Major props to you Cumberland! Substance AND naughty taboo bow chicka bow wow factor! Pushing the Limits lacks nothing.

The story of Aspen and Morgan is one that will stick with me for quite some time. Yeah, book hangovers are a cruel b*tch BUT I'd read it all over again for the first time if I could.

"You're the purples and reds of my life."

Simply in awe that a "taboo" story could evoke such an array of emotions. *happy sigh*
