Author Spotlight for AMALIE SILVER

Amalie Silver resides in Minnesota with her husband, two toddlers, and German Short-haired Pointer, Saba. She consumes approximately three pots of coffee a day, and credits this for her survival over the past decade.

When not completely consumed in her writing, she can be found taking road trips to northern Minnesota, engaging in fierce Scrabble games, or reading a good book. She’s a sucker for all romance genres, literary fiction, and psychological fiction.

1.       What do you think people will love most about your book? I wrote this book for the diehards. The authors, bloggers, and readers that don't miss a day in this industry. So I think that if you're on Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, or any social media where you follow authors and bloggers, you'll find Word Play amusing. It's not a book that will emotionally drain you, or make you cry. This book is light-hearted, and perfect for when you need a break from the angst in our genre.

2.   Was this book hard to write? Amazingly enough, the first 30K blew by within a week. I didn't even think about it, I just wrote it. When I got to Lauren's POV, it got a lot trickier. If you've read the book then you know - there were a lot of points I had to make sure I connected, and I also had to rework a lot of lines that I thought might have pushed the envelope too far. Satire can be fun, but it's not easy. This entire book could very well upset some people who might not understand the humor of it. But overall, I've gotten a great response from this community. You all rock!

3. Who is the one Author you haven’t met that you would like to meet? Claire C Riley. Horror and Paranormal Author. Hands down. Not only for the way she writes, but also because she's one of my best friends.

4. What do you have coming up in the future? I will be releasing a brand new novella in the anthology Nighttides. It's a NA romantic comedy about a college fast pitch softball player.  She undergoes quite a transformation from being tough and strong to soft and feminine.  It was a really fun story to write!

5. How do you balance life, family, kids, etc. and still manage to find time to write? It certainly isn't easy. I'm a stay at home mom of two. My son is autistic and requires extra time and effort in teaching. And my daughter is two - she just requires extra attention at all times! Ha! I'm lucky that my husband works out of our home, so if I need to make a deadline, or schedule a takeover, he can usually accommodate. But I'll admit I haven't mastered the control over my creative thoughts. When they come - I HAVE to write. It does make it tricky if a conference is scheduled, or my children need dinner. I've burned a few pancakes in the past two years. ;)

 Smut sells.

Michael Rourke learned this the hard way.

Struggling to make ends meet as a mystery writer, he sold his soul - and his pride - as he pedaled sex and lust writing under the pen name Christoph Strong.

No one knew he was the one behind the steamy stories on the bestsellers lists. And he planned to keep it that way.

Until he met her.

Monica Singer, an infamous blogger, is keen to discover the truth of his secret identity.

During a chance meeting at a book convention, Michael and Monica form an instant connection. And soon, an industry rivalry becomes something else entirely.

But as Michael starts to let his guard down, he doesn’t realize that the person he's learning to trust may be hiding secrets of her own.

Secrets that could ultimately destroy everything
