Review of BAIT by M. Mabie

Bait (Wake, #1)

Title: Bait

Author: M. Mabie

He was trouble from the start, but I couldn't resist.
[She was the best kind of trouble. The kind that was so wrong, it felt right.]

I’ve tried and failed to stay away from him.
[I’ve done everything in my power to make her mine and keep her.]

He’s almost impossible to say no to.
[She never tells me yes.]

We’re always fighting.
[When we’re not fighting, we’re… well… making up.]

He makes me laugh so hard.
[I miss her laugh the most.]

I'm a liar.
[She knows the truth, but won’t admit it.]

Sometimes, I wish I'd never met him.
[I wish we could meet all over again. I'd do better.]

His girlfriend knows.
[The guy she’s with is a fool.]

I’ll never love anyone like I love him.
[She doesn’t love me enough to choose us.]

It was the wrong place.
[It was the wrong time.]

It should have been him.
[It will always be her.]

*This book contains adult situations and is recommended for adult readers.

WHOA!! This book was fanfrickingtastic! I just got done reading it and I already want to go back and read it again. It had me biting my nails the whole time. I couldn't wait to turn to the next page. I read it in less than 24 hours which I think is the fastest I have ever read a book. Blake & Casey are explosive and addicting. They will take you on one hell of a roller coaster ride that you won't ever want to get off of. Your heart will be tugged, crushed, stomped on and then just when you think it might be on it's way to being mended, it will all happen again. I was physically sick to my stomach most of this book and let me tell you I absolutely LOVED every minute of it! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

If you one click any book today let it be this one! I really can't recommend this book enough. If you are looking for that one book that will give you butterflies, break your heart, make you fall in love with it and leave you wanting more, this is the book you are looking for! You did an AMAZING job writing this Author M. Mabie and I can't wait for more!

Review of My Skylar by Penelope Ward

My Skylar (Gemini, #3)My Skylar by Penelope Ward

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I read all of Penelope Ward’s books but I must say that My Skylar is by far my favorite book of hers to date. This book takes you on a journey through Mitch and Skylar’s friendship as kids and continues on to what becomes their never ending love story as adults. It spans many years and once you become entangled in it you won’t ever want it to end.

It will start out making you fall in love with it, then it will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside only to start breaking your heart again and the breaking of your heart will continue until you feel like you can’t take anymore and then it will start to mend but this will happen very slowly and trust me you will need some Kleenex during this whole process.

This is a beautiful, a-m-a-z-i-n-g, wonderful love story. One that I don’t want to give too much detail out on because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. Just know that it is one story that will stay with you long after you have read it. The characters are so genuine and real you can’t help but love them and the story doesn’t hold anything back.  Thank you so much for writing this simply amazing story Penelope!

Sometimes when you read a series the books that come after the first one are not always as amazing as the first one that you fell in love with but not with this series that's for sure. Phew, where to begin with this book. This book was angsty that's for sure. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time and I couldn't wait to turn the page to see what would happen next. It broke my heart, shreddred it into a million pieces, broke it again and then slowly , very slowly started to put it back together. I still loved the characters as much as I did in the first book.In relationships sometimes there is a period where it has to hurt to get better and this book definitely made you feel that.

Even though this book was hard on my heart , I still loved it and I can't wait to dive into the next book of Liz & Brady's amazing love story. Amazing Job K.A. This is really one of the best series I have read in a long time!

I have a new book boyfriend and his name is Brady Maxwell. Do you know him? If not you need to. This is a fantastic series by K.A. Linde that I fell in love with right from the start. Both characters are so likeable and easy to love and the story line just grabs you and hold your interest all the way through. What starts out as a relationship of convenience turns into to something so much more. Can Brady and Liz handle that or will it destroy them? I loved how Liz was a strong female character. She isn’t afraid to stand her ground with Brady and purse her goals but she also isn’t afraid to let him see her be vulnerable. Brady is the cocky, over confident politician who truly believes in what he is doing and won’t let anyone stand in his way. That is until Liz comes along. Will he fall for her or will he stay on his true course? This was an awesome story that I couldn’t get enough of! I devoured the first two books Off the Record and On the Record in one weekend and I can’t wait to read the next one.

Review of Vengence is Mine by Kasey Millstead

Wow!  Another AWESOME MC novel from Kasey Millstead.  I was excited to read Vengeance is Mine, because I really liked another one of her MC books (Fighting to Stay).  I was certainly not disappointed.

Alecia Reynolds had a wonderful childhood until her life came to a halt.  She had a lot of hate inside and didn't know what to do with it.  Then one day, she received an envelope with info that could change everything for the better or get her killed.

I was amazed at the twists and turns this book was taking.  The situations she got herself into were crazy.  Alecia was a strong woman who knew what she wanted.  She went after it no matter what the consequences were or what the predicament called for.

Vengeance is Mine had action, drama and hot, steamy sex.  I got upset thinking about what would be happening in the end, but a turn was taken and it blew me away.  Mouth to the floor, shocking.

Thank you Kasey for giving me the opportunity to once again read one of your novels.  I hated having to put it down when I was forced to.  LOL

Can I just say I love taking chances on new authors because, 90% of the time, I find another to love. This is Noelle's debut novel and it's freaking awesome!  It's got drama, action, emotion and hot, steamy sex.

Let's talk about Mr. Rhys Slate...WOW!  A tall, lean, alpha male with dark hair, green eyes and a little chest hair. Hello hotness!!  Rhys is a man who knows what he likes and can get what he wants.  He has his eyes set on Sohpie, a shy, naive, laid back 24 yr old who is attending his brother's wedding.  Rhys comes off as cocky, but there's chemistry between he and Sophie that neither can back away from.  What happens when the weekend is over and they have to go their separate ways?

There was jealousy, ups and downs, beautiful romantic moments and unsure feelings going on.  I loved both characters together and loved that Sophie was trying her best to break out a little. There were also turns I didn't see coming, which made it hard to put the book down.  This is one book you don't want to pass on.

Thank you Noelle for giving me the chance to read your first novel.  I can't wait for the 2nd part of this trilogy.

It's no secret that I LOVE Penelope Ward!. I have read all of her books and even though I didn’t think it was possible each one keeps getting better and better. This woman can write AMAZING stories!

That being said, this book was no different, I fell in love with it right from the beginning. Elec is the troubled, moody, but HOT jerk of a stepbrother and the things that came out his mouth just made me like him even more. Greta is the good girl who is instantly attracted to him even though she doesn’t want to be. She tries to stay away but she just can’t. Their relationship was a constant push and pull but Greta was strong and stood her ground with Elec and he didn’t make it easy on her, that’s for sure. This book made me laugh, made me want to strangle some characters (who I will not mention) and also touched my heart.

I love when a book can take me on an emotional ride, make me vested in the story and keep me guessing until the end and this book absolutely did just that. Thank you so much Penelope Ward for writing such an amazing book you definitely never disappoint me with your stories and your writing!

Spotlight for SLIM TO NONE by Freya Barker

Since moving to beautiful Cedar Tree, Colorado, Emma Young, mother of one adult daughter, has worked from home doing some online bookkeeping and baking for her best friend's diner to supplement her disability pension. Life has been pretty damn good. That is, until she received a strange phone call that started an alarming chain of events.

Investigator Gus Flemming was hot on the trail of a bail skip with organized crime connections, when he ended up in Cedar Tree. Here the focus of his investigation landed squarely on the gently rounded shoulders of the vivacious red-headed Emma, whose physical limitations have done nothing to dampen her zest for life.

When it becomes clear that Emma is at risk, Gus doesn't hesitate to step in and protect her. Call it a job with some very hot benefits.....

This book definitely caught my attention from the very beginning! Then I found as I continued on that this was going to be a story that would keep me interested right up until the very end and that is exactly what it did.

This is a beautiful, suspenseful love story about overcoming obstacles and having faith in not only yourself but in others as well. I loved that the characters in this book weren’t the young, hot, rich type. They were just real life people who were a little older and had lived a little but that doesn’t mean that they didn’t haven’t sexual chemistry or hot love scenes because they did. Emma and Gus were both very strong willed and feisty people and I loved that about them.

The twists and turns were many and I couldn’t wait to put it all together in the end. This is a great debut book and I look forward to seeing more books from this Author.

Author Bio:

Freya has always been creative. Involved in music and dance when she was younger, she followed it up with cake design, quilting, and has most recently added cover design. Now the Dutch-born Canadian mother of two has found her voice - writing.

Excerpt

Grabbing his hand, she allowed him to pull her up and help her into the bedroom. He sat her down on the edge of the bed and kneeled before her with his hands on her thighs. "I almost forgot you were hurt. We should stop." He said regretfully.
"No. I don't want to stop." Emma draped her arms around his neck and pulled him toward her. "I want this. I want you. I'm fine, I promise."
Groaning, Gus leaned his head on her chest. "I promised myself I would give you at least twenty-four hours, darlin'. It hasn't been that. You have a concussion and you're bruised all over. I'm gonna hurt you."
"Please, Gus. I want to feel you. I want to touch your skin."
Not saying anything, Gus stood, stripped his t-shirt off in one swift move and was down to his boxer briefs in no time flat. Finally she could study his gorgeously fit body and the beautifully tattooed designs gracing it. Her eyes traced over the dusting of hair covering the hard planes of his chest and abdomen, leading to the band of his boxer briefs. Leaning forward, her face now at the level of his stomach, she put her open mouth on his stomach, pressing her tongue against his skin. His flavour burst over her tastebuds. Feeling a slight shiver run through him, she wrapped her arms around him; pulled him between her legs and pressed herself against his prominent erection. Sliding her hands down the small of his back, she cupped the swell of his firm ass before pulling down his briefs. With her chin she nudged his waistband down as far as it would go in the front, trailing her tongue down from his navel. Gus' breathing turn erratic, as the fabric of his briefs was caught tight around the head of his cock. Pulling back and looking up, she could see him looking back at her with dark heavy-lidded eyes and parted lips still wet from their kisses. His chest fell and rose fast and shallow. Holding his eyes, she edged forward and very purposely swiped her wet tongue along the rim of the head of his cock through the fabric, causing him to draw back his lips with a quick intake of breath. Again she licked him around the rim, this time following with a slight scrape of her teeth along the same path. A soft growl rumbled from his chest - his fists clenched at his side. Craving the feeling of his length filling her mouth, she relieved his cock from its fabric confinement, barely able to wrap her hand around the base. Then in one big slide, moved her mouth and lips down to engulf him tightly, until he was seated as deep as he could go.

OMG!  I don't even know where to begin!  Jamie McGuire...you're a freakin' genius!  I really didn't think any of the Maddox brothers could top Travis, but Jamie is so awesome that I now love Trent as much as I love Travis.  Holy amazeballs!!  I totally love Trent and Cami together too.  They just work.  I love how sweet Trent is even though he's still badass.  This book had me smiling, laughing and crying.  There was heartache and pain, but there were many good times and fun moments too.  Trent was left with a guilt he couldn't overcome until he started talking and spending time with Cami.  They completed each other somehow, but there was a secret that could possibly tear them apart.  I seriously had a hard time putting this book down when I got the chance to read it.  There were a few nights I was up til 4am.  Who needs sleep, right?  LOL

I cannot express enough how truly well written this book was.  It was sweet, fun, sexy, sensual, loving and so much more.  Thank you Jamie for keeping us entertained yet again with another fantabulous book.  Now.....bring on some Thomas!  <3 br="">

5 PLUS STARS

Have you ever read a book that you just felt a strong connection to? A book that you knew would stay with you long after you read it? Well this is that book for me.  This book is one of my favorite books that I have read to date.  The way it was written is exceptional and is like none other that I have experienced before. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would easily without a doubt!

I am not going to give much detail in my review as I believe a reader will need to experience this book first hand to really grasp and understand what an amazing book it is and I don’t want to spoil that for anyone. I will however say this is a very emotional provoking book and you will feel everything and I mean everything to sadness, grief & longing and then you will feel comfort, joy & happiness but most of all you will feel LOVE throughout this whole book.

This story will grab you right from the very first page and will hold your heart in the palm of it’s hands up until the very end. The characters in this book just come alive, I could relate to all of them. They are so much fun and are the kind of friends who are with you through thick & thin no matter what life throws at you and let’s face it we all need friends like that. Their connection and love for one another was very easily felt throughout the whole book.

This is a must read book in my opinion and I am so glad that I got the chance to read it! Thank you S.P. Cervantes for writing such an amazing, emotional, beautifully written love story that I for one know provoked feelings in me that I haven’t felt in a while reading a book.

I have a found a new book boyfriend and his name is Matty. I first met Matty in Always Been Mine by Carina and I loved him there but in Honey Whiskey he completely stole my heart. Let me first say Honey Whiskey can be read as a standalone however I personally feel that I benefited from reading Always Been Mine prior to Honey Whiskey it gives you more background into the relationship between Matty & Joes.

Honey Whiskey is about an MC called The Bastards. In this book we get a good look into who they are and what they represent. Will you agree with their choices? We also get a chance to meet the members of the group and learn more about each one of them. You will also be taken on a ride through Matty & Joe’s love story and what a beautiful love story it is. Will Joe’s be able to fit into Matty’s life since it is so extremely different from what she has known or will it be too much and tear them apart?

I absolutely loved this book!! I really can’t say enough awesome things about it. I am not usually a fan of MC books but this one grabbed me right from the start and didn’t let go until the end and now I am anxiously awaiting the next book. Carina’s writing is amazing, she really has a way of making you feel like all these characters are your friends and you are just one of the group. She is so good at making the reader connect with the characters that you just can’t help but love all of them and I did LOVE all of them!

Thank you Carina for letting me read your book and I can’t wait for the next one!

Lexi is a woman who lost her innocence when she was young at the hands of someone she trusted and loved very much and she has experience more heartache than anyone at her age should have to. Now she is a young adult attending college and trying to rebuild her life however it is a constant struggle every day for her. She is quiet, shy, withdrawn and doesn’t trust easily. Derek is a very attractive young man who she has a class with and he is fighting his own demons and grieving for love ones he has lost. When they are selected to be partners and work on a project that will require them to open up to each other and share things from their past, will they be able to or will it be too hard for them? Can they trust each other with all that has happened to them in the lives?

This was a heartbreaking but uplifting story at the same time. The Author does an amazing job taking you into Lexi’s world and as a reader you are able to really sympathize and understand how she is feeling. Sometimes this is heartbreaking but at other times when she starts to really live and experience the things she should have experienced as a teenage girl it was so wonderful to see her blossom and become the young woman mentally that she was already age wise. Derek is just so sweet, kind & patient with Lexi that you can't help but root for him. He is totally smitten with her and is willing to help her in any way he can. He is exactly what Lexi has been needing.

I can’t wait to read the next book and see what journey the Author will take Lexi & Derek’s story on.  Thank you Lisa for allowing me to read your book. I very much enjoyed it!
