Review: Commander In Chief by Katy Evans

The sizzling second installment of the White House series, by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans.

We fell in love during the campaign.
The stakes were high.
Reputations could have been ruined.
Scandal hovered over us like a cloud.
Now the man I love is the President of the United States of America.
And its not my vote he is after.
He wants it all.
My heart. My body. My soul.
He wants me by his side.
In the White House.
Normalcy will be gone from my life, privacy forgotten.
I am only twenty three. I just wanted to play a part in history. But it seems like history wasn't done with me. The part where I lost my heart to Matthew Hamilton? It was only the beginning...

4 'Better than okay. I just bagged the president.' Stars

'I shed more than my clothes when I'm with her. I shed every preconceived notion of who I should be. My last name, the presidency, everything is gone- only I remain. A man, flesh and blood, not perfect, but trying his damn best to be, and a man who wants her. Bad.'

Prepare to sizzle and swoon!! No one writes decadent, scandalous love and kisses quite like Katy Evans!! Somebody call 9-1-1! The temperature at the White House just went up a few degrees and this book is on fire! Holy. Crap!! Yes, go ahead and fan yourself, its justified. Commander in Chief, the highly anticipated conclusion of this duet has landed, and trust me, you won't be able to put it down. Its 110% un-put-down-able- just like any other Katy Evans book I've had my hands on. There's a reason she has quickly become one of my top favourite authors, the anticipation for her next piece of work is almost torture. Gimmie, gimmie, gimmie!!! #KatyEvansAddict

Commander in Chief picks up two months after we were left hanging at the end of Mr. President. A nice, light and fluffy, little ditty of a cliffhanger. Seriously though, I almost died waiting for CiC, but as always Katy makes it worth the wait!

Now as POTUS, reigning over America and her people, Matt Hamilton has big shoes to fill, namely those of his father and former president, Law Hamilton. With memories of a previous lifetime spent at the White House, seemingly lurking at every corner it's time to get a certain nagging issue solved once and for all. Justice. No plagues of haunts past will rain on Matt's presidency. He'll prove to himself and those near and dear that you can have a personal life and rule the free world harmoniously.

'God. The pull he has on me, his magnetism tugging at me. The pain in his eyes only reminding me of my own. He's the president now, but he's still Matt. My first love. And I know that after Matt, I'll never want or love another man again.'

Torn and tortured with matters of the heart, Charlotte Wells isn't sure she's cut out for this lifestyle. Holding on to her privacy might cost her the love of a lifetime. But our boy Hammy has plans for his leading lady, his First Lady!! Gah! These two are destined to be together, to share a love so raw and true that Ijustcan'teven!!

Butterflies will erupt out of nowhere, those feelings grabbing a hold of you and not letting go until the very last page has been read, over and over. This series as a whole will take you hostage, bind you to its words and spit you out a love sick fool! Is it too soon for a re-read?

'I chose him over fear. I chose him over everything...'

Commander in Chief is a story of unyielding love, one that defies all odds and scandal, that proves- Yes! You can have your cake while being POTUS and eat it too, damnit!!

Commander In Chief was the sweetest most delightful love story that I have read. There wasn’t one thing that I didn’t love about it. Matt Hamilton is so perfectly yummy. He’s dominate, loving, caring and immensely protective over the ones that he loves. What more could a woman ask for? Oh and I almost forgot to mention, he is the President of the United States.

I first fell for Matt in Mr. President but he completely owned my heart in Commander In Chief. Every time that man spoke he said something heart melting. The love that he feels for Charlotte was palpable and could be felt all throughout this story, it was simply undeniable.

“One day I’ll do all the things I need to. And she’ll be mine. Mark my words.”

“Does she know this yet?”

“I just told her, he says.”

Charlotte and Matt are determined to make their relationship work and to not let anything come between them. I loved how they were so honest and had mutual respect for one another. Charlotte genuinely wanted to see Matt succeed and she believed in him like no one else. My heart was mushy reading this story. It is totally lovey dovey sugary sweetness and I absolutely adored EVERYTHING about it!

“I’m lost. I’m his. I don’t want to be anywhere else, will never be anyone else’s he’s my guy, my commander, my god.”

Charlotte loved Matt with her heart and soul. There could never be any other man for her.

“I’m so in love with this man sometimes it hurts just because.”

Being the President of the United States was immensely important to Matt but being a good husband was number one to him and that made him the perfect man in my eyes. He never wanted Charlotte to feel like she was in second place and he did everything he possible could to never have her feel like that.

Matt & Charlotte are most definitely one of my favorite book couples and will stay in my heart for a long time to come. Thank you Katy Evans for writing such an amazing, flawless love story.
