Review: The Goal by Elle Kennedy

She’s good at achieving her goals…

College senior Sabrina James has her whole future planned out: graduate from college, kick butt in law school, and land a high-paying job at a cutthroat firm. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.

But the game just got a whole lot more complicated

Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he’s fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn’t hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he’ll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.

I FREAKING LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!!!!!

Once again, Elle Kennedy has made my booknerd heart complete with another installment in her crazy addictive Off Campus series. These men and their sticks *happy sigh*

First it was Garrett who stole a piece of my heart.
Then along came Logan, who stole a piece for himself.
And then there was Dean...BIG DEAN, little dean, allllll the Deans...who unexpectedly came crashing in and took what belonged to him... I really did hate him once upon a time.
AND NOW!
NOW, John freaking Tucker has swooped in with all his sweet, gentlemanly Texas charm and swagger...and that beard and took what's left of my heart and then proceeded to swoon the panties off me, so Sabrina really didn't stand a chance lol. You really do need to watch out for the quiet ones!

To the outside world, Sabrina James puts on a good show of being tough and impervious to it all, but in reality, she's vulnerable and sweet and precious.

Sabrina is a girl with a plan-THE end GOAL in sight, only a few years away. Between working two jobs and her studies, there's no time for relationships only a quick dicking every now and then.  And only with jocks...stamina and all that *wink* We all know her reputation from Dean's book-the unlikable, uppity b*tch. Soooo...yeah, I was caught a bit off guard with how quick I fell in love with her character. As the saying goes 'there's always two sides to a story.' And hers would be enough to break a lesser person.

I'm trashy. I live with trashy people. I belong in a trashy place. The question is, will I ever be able to rub off the stench of my past to belong at Harvard? I thought I could. But tonight, I honestly don't know.

The Goal takes on a bit more of a serious tone than its predecessors, simply due to it's content. Sabrina hasn't had an easy life like the majority of the characters in the series. Nevertheless, the hilarious and inappropriate banter we love between the guys remains and is perfectly placed within the book. And lets not forget the hot, sweaty, kinky times. Lots and lots of kinky times. Elle Kennedy did an amazing job balancing the serious with the fun, the highs with the lows and the sex with the reality of the 'matter'. Enthralling from page one to the very last word. You really can't go wrong by picking up one of her books!

"So money doesn't matter once you get down to it. It doesn't matter how thin or thick anyone's wallet is. We all hurt. We all love. We're the same. And your past, who you live with, where you came from, it doesn't have to matter. You're creating your own future, and I want to see where the road forward takes you."

It'll be a sad day when this series ends...perhaps now is the time to start begging for Fitzy's book??! Yeah, I think it is!!!!! Ooooooooh, ELLLLLLEEEEEEE!!!!!

Never in my life have I felt more at peace than in this very moment. "I love you." I whisper

This is one of my favorite series of all time!!! I have loved every book so far! But Tucker, *swoon Tucker* Tucker is mine! M-I-N-E mine!!!!

I started this book last evening and read until the wee hours of the morning! I could not put it down! I am in love with Tucker (did I mention he is mine?) and I loved Sabrina too, even though on more then one occasion I wanted to slap some sense into her!!!

I loved the glimpses of the other boys we saw throughout the book! The story flowed flawlessly and captivated me from the first sentence!!! Elle did not disappoint but now I want some Fitzy in my life!! Please Elle!!!

SQUEEE….John Tucker…ladies be prepared to instantly fall in love with this guy. He will steal your heart right in the very beginning, actually you’ll probably just end up handing it over to him. He was the total package! Sweet, honest, nurturing and HOT AS HELL!

I went into this book not liking Sabrina James. She has been in the other books and I just never really cared for her. But reading this story she might just be my new favorite heroine. She was strong, independent and not afraid to ask for exactly what she wanted.

I loved that this story was so real to life. I liked that the Author didn’t’ fabricate or overdo the plot of the story especially when THE BOMB dropped. Sabrina and John’s love grew slowly and it was very mature. They really had deep respect for one another and their caring for one another was genuine and melted my heart.

This was the perfect story about accepting responsibility for your actions. Falling in love and making the life that you want.
